Turbine installation at Wieringermeer Wind Farm is halfway

Vattenfall reached a milestone when wind turbine number 41 in Wieringermeer Wind Farm was installed. This means that half of the in total 82 Nordex N117/3600 windturbines by Vattenfall are now installed. 

Also this week, contractor BAM Infra reported on social media that it had completed the construction of all foundations. In total around 54,735 m³ of concrete was used. BAM Infra also installed the last of 3 met met masts.

The first construction in the wind farm started in 2018. The wind farm should be completed this year.

Wieringermeer Wind Farm is an initiative of ECN Wind Energy Facilities B.V. and Vattenfall. The wind farm will comprise of 99 wind turbines in total, of which 82 are owned by Vattenfall and partners. It is the largest onshore wind farm in the Netherlands. It is also the first wind farm that will have turbines installed in a forest.
