Fugro will be performing geotechnical site investigations at potential offshore wind farm development areas in the German North Sea and Baltic Sea.
The company was awarded a multi-annual contract by Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (Das Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH)). The contract has a value of approximately 25 million euro. The starting date is targeted at mid-September and the programme will be completed in three phases over the next 3 years.
Fugro’s survey department will first provide unexploded ordnance (UXO) services. The company’s site characterisation services will provide geotechnical data acquisition from the geotechnical drilling vessels Fugro Scout and Gargano, and geotechnical laboratory testing and reporting by its German and UK laboratories. The standard and advanced laboratory testing results will be used by future wind farm developers to prepare their bids. Source: Fugro
