First turbine installed at Deil Wind Farm

The first wind turbine at Deil Wind Farm was installed. In total, eleven wind turbines are being installed in line position south of the the A15 at the junction Deil, on both sides of the A2.

The developers are Raedthuys Pure Energie, YARD ENERGY and citizen cooperative Burgerwindcoöperatie West-Betuwe. The latter will manage 4 turbines in a nature area, west of the A2.

The eleven turbines are delivered by Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. The turbines, type V136-4.2 MW, have a hub height of 140 m and a rotor diameter of 136 m. The ground preparations commenced at the start of this year. The first blades arrived on 13 November.

The onshore wind farm is planned to start producing the first electricity before the end of the year and be completed at the start of 2020. It is connected to a substation at Zaltbommel. Image: Betuwewind
